As much as I love getting a professional manicure or pedicure, I hate paying a small fortune only to have my nails chip less than an hour after leaving the salon. As a result, I’ve come up with a plan for making my manicure last a little bit longer: BUY THE BOTTLE
If you’re like me, you probably have that go-to polish color that you love wearing on your finger or toes, so why not buy it and bring it with you to the nail salon?
Why you should just bite the bullet & buy the bottle:
1. You’ll save time by not scouring the salon’s often overwhelming selection of colors
2. You won’t have to use nail polish that’s been sitting around for an indeterminable amount of time
3. You can make quick fixes to your nails when they inevitably chip
4. If you can’t get to the nail salon, you can always do an at-home manicure. Hey, you’ll save even more money this way!
My most recent nail polish obsession: OPI’s DC Cherry Blossoms
Spring the product!
Does bringing my own nail polish to the salon simplify my life? Totally! Now, I can fix chips easily and inexpensively. Plus, who needs a weekly manicure when your nails still look great after two weeks with a little DIY touch up?

That’s a great solution! I alternate between doing that or buying the bottle when I get a manicure… either way, I’m obsessed with OPI nail polish (Big Apple Red and Charged up Cherry are two of my staples).
Bringing your own colors is definately more sanitary and you get better results from a fresher product, but I’d extend that to purchasing a great manicure and pedicure set of tools, and taking those with you, as well. Manicure and Pedicure hygenic safety is paramount, and the best way to assure your equipment is clean and sharp, is to bring your own. I have favorite products, including lotions, so my tool kit, polish, and lotion, come with me to a pedicure and manicure, and I give them to my gal. A good technician won’t mind at all, and in fact, many salons discount a manicure / pedicure if you bring your own polish and equipment, as you’re basically buying their time, only. I still tip accordingly, but the peace of mind is well worth it.
