The warm weather has arrived! It is finally time to put away those winter coats and bust out a new wardrobe. Instead of buying lots of new clothes, I rely on a couple of basics to look polished and put together. The following pieces are timeless, versatile & comfortable. They can be mixed and matched to achieve any look.
My spring wardrobe basics:
- A button-down cardigan
- Dark wash boot cut/skinny jeans
- A dress shirt (light blue/white)
- Black stockings
- A white v-neck t-shirt
- Versatile cotton jersey dress (Like something fun from American Apparel) These dresses could be your whole spring wardrobe. There are hundreds of styles you can come up with, and the material is light and soft.
Each season, I end up splurging on one or two trendy items that add a bit of edge to my outfit.
Piece together your basic pieces to suit almost any occasion:
- For a low key, put together look, opt for the dress shirt and jeans.
- The jersey dress wrapped into a tube dress shape and black stockings would be perfect for a night out in town.
- One a date? Try a cardigan over the jersey dress in a style of your choice.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless!
Does planning my wardrobe simplify my life? Yes – I find that sticking to the basics not only saves me money but keeps my wardrobe simple & manageable.
