Summer’s ending, but the fun will go on
As Labor Day approaches, most of us in the Northeast start dreading the cold winter days ahead. Well, I have good news: There are still a bunch of great months ahead, and lots of fun things to do. For instance, here are 10 fun things to do on the Cape in September:
- 9/1: Labor Day 5K Road Race – the 3rd Annual Labor Day Road Race will give you an opportunity to run of some of your work stresses prior to heading into the long holiday weekend.
- 9/2: The Devil’s Music - a hot R&B show at the Cape Playhouse. It runs from September 1 – September 13th.
- 9/5: Red Cross Open Charity Golf Tournament – held at the Twin Brooks Golf Course and Resort in Hyannis, you can enjoy a fun day of golfing and help a good cause.
- 9/8: Cape Lyceum Lecture – take part in some interesting discussions as part of the lecture series of the New Enlightenment Institute for the Preservation and Advancement of Civil Democracy.
- 9/12: Bonnie Snow’s Main Street Walk – take part in an informative tour of historical sites in center of Orleans, held by the Orleans Historical Society.
- 9/20: O’Shea’s Olde Inne Live Music - listen to some great live music while enjoying traditional Irish fare.
- 9/21: Bourne Scallop Fest – eat some of the freshest seafood around, in an event that draws over 50,000 patrons each year. The event runs from September 19 – September 21st.
- 9/26: An Evening of Masterworks for Cello and Piano -The Cape Cod Theater Project and Falmouth Academy present An Evening of Masterworks for Cello and Piano with Sharon Mann, Piano and Savely Schuster, Cello.
- 9/27: Flock Walk- Fall is the best time to visit Sandy Neck Beach for viewing wildlife.
- 9/30: JazzFest Falmouth – Enjoy a week-long event full of seminars, classes, celebrating the history of jazz. Runs from September 29 – October 4th.
